In perfect autumn conditions Athletic faced second in the table and unbeaten Bearsted for the second time in 3 weeks. Playing five across the middle with a solitary forward Athletic started the livelier of the two teams and had the best of the chances in the opening period. The opening goal came on 20 minutes when Hayden Chandler’s tireless running resulted in the Bearsted centre half losing possession on the edge of the box, allowing CHANDLER to finish with a superb strike past the keeper. Unfortunately the lead didn’t last long and Bearsted were soon back on level terms with a cool finish from their centre forward. As in the first period there was little to choose between the two teams in an even second half but two unfortunate errors resulted in the home team scoring twice without reply to win an entertaining game 3-1. Despite the score-line another encouraging performance from: Luke Hogben, Daniel Partridge, Wesley Maggs, Mitchell Foad, Joe Hammond, Liam Smith, George Dowle , Connor Miller, Rob Henry, David Hart, Hayden Chandler, Jack Saunders, Harry Miles, Ethan Mallery and Philip Thompson.
