Official Dover Athletic Football Club - Youth Teams - Ashford United U15s 0-4 DAFC U15s
Ashford United U15s 0-4 DAFC U15s Paul Evison | Thu 13th Oct 2011
This was Athletic's fourth league game of the season and hoped to continue with their winning ways. They flew out of the blocks quickest with Liam Sparks, JJ Donnelly and Liam King coming close but Ashford defended well. It was great work from the midfield, Harry Priddle and Jack Reed who created chance after chance and it was Man of the Match Priddle who found Jack GOLDSMITH unmarked at the far post to slot home to make it 1-0. The eventual goal seemed to spur the team on and a great pin point pass from King found DONNELLY, his magic touch took him away from any opposition and a cool finish made it 2-0.
United did throw some pressure on the Dover backline but Simpson, Bennett, Wells and Coulter stood strong to win their battles. It was a long ball from Matt Bennett to find DONNELLY who beat the Ashford backline to send the team in 3-0 up at the half.
The second half became very scrappy and didnt really offer much in the way of goal action however it was substitute Will Thomas who was fouled 30 yards out that lead to Athletic's fourth. Matt BENNETT stepped up and hit a left footed free kick that flew into the top corner for the goal of the game.
