Herne Bay were quickest off the mark and soon found themselves two - nil up, the second being a well worked move. Dover pulled one back when a poor clearance from the keeper was punished by Tom CHAPMAN. Athletic then levelled when Cameron Morgan found Reece BRANDY in the box to slot home. Dover then failed to clear a corner and Bay went ahead just before half time, 2-3.
The Whites started the second half strong creating a lot of chances and Brandy found CHAPMAN for his second to level again, 3-3. A carbon copy of Bays third put them ahead and Athletic made some changes. Substitute Conner COYNE played a good one-two and then followed up the shot to make it 4-4. Another strong run down the right by Chapman to the bi line created Dover’s fifth when his low cross hit a defender and went in. Herne Bay then capitalised on a mistake to make the final score 5-5.
