DAFC U15 5 - 2 Whitstable Town U15 - U15 Kent Cup Paul Evison | Mon 1st Nov 2010
A late notice rearrangement by the Kent FA saw these two teams meet for the second time in three weeks. The Dover boys were in confident mood with the return of Bines and Brisley from their holiday in Dubai with Rooney, and they made all the early running. It was Man of the Match Liam Coleman who opened the scoring on the 30 minute mark with a stub in with his standing foot from inside the six yard box. He hit the net again 3 minutes later with a close range header from a Jordan Blackford corner. Whitstable got back into the match with an excellent free-kick from the left hand side of the Dover 18 yard box, and this seemed to panic the Dover team, who lost their way until Tom Bines struck to make it 3-1 at the break.
Athletic were in danger of routing Whitstable when sub Kane Smith hit the 4th from another corner by powering a header into the net, this was quickly followed by the 5th again from Bines with another header. This ensured that the Whites made it to the second round but Whitstable continued to work and hit a late consolation but to no avail.
