Dover Athletic vs Chester FC – match preview

On the 1st of October 2016, Chester vs Dover Athletic regular season match took place.

The match between Dover Athletic FC and Chester FC was tough and unpredictable. The game was pretty fine and even in the first half. Sam Hughes replaced injured Blaine Hudson in this match. Although just after the interval, two goals were made within a minute. Johnny Hunt, James Alabi, Elliott Durrell, Craig Mahon and Oluwaseun Akintunde made five goals in the second half of the game.

Before James Alabi, Kane Richards’ pass released Johnny Hunt and put Chester ahead on 51 minutes. This helped to double their lead quickly. In the final 11 minutes, Chester then scored three more goals, triggered by Elliott Durrell after being fouled himself.

Heading in Durrell’s left-wing cross, substitute Akintunde still had some time to get a goal and complete City’s biggest win and lift Jon McCarthy’s side to enter into the National League top half. Chester FC were superb in the second half. They defeated Dover with quality and never played hard to gain this position.
